It’s been a few months since a first look at Jordan Brand’s chunky Trunner O/S model surfaced. Now, another colorway has appeared, which indicates the brand has some big plans for the dad shoe-styled sneaker.
Looks at a previously unseen Jordan Trunner O/S were shared on Instagram by vintage sneaker reseller @sneakerdenn. The new style marks a major left turn from the all-gray Cave Stone makeup which surfaced in February. Rather than the monochromatic look seen on that pair, the just-revealed style has a full colorway of Archaeo Brown/Persian Violet/Earth/Aluminum. The result is a combination of earthy shades and bright pops of color which has drawn comparisons to Nike’s ACG (All Conditions Gear) outdoors line.

With its mix of mesh, suede and a thick midsole, it’s not difficult to see why this model has also been compared to the enduring dad shoe trend. Some commenters have likened the design to popular shoes such as the New Balance 992, but the Trunner DNA is a wholly Jordan Brand concept. The half-running shoe, half-training sneaker line was introduced by Jordan Brand in 1999 and became a cult favorite franchise which included models like the Trunner LX. That sneaker, which was once featured on an unreleased Travis Scott collaboration, is also due for a return in 2025.

The pair shared by @sneakerdenn is a promo sample and while the Archaeo Brown/Persian Violet colorway is scheduled to be released later this year, it’s possible the final retail version could include some changes from the iteration pictured here.
Jordan Brand recently introduced another new offshoot model in the Jordan Flight Court, which has received a boost in visibility thanks to its Who Decides War collaborations. Also set to be released this year is a new $90 skate-inspired sneaker dubbed the Jordan Session.
The Jordan Trunner O/S SP Archaeo Brown/Persian Violet has a style code of IQ5649-200 and a retail price of $115. Confirmed for a fall release, the sneaker is currently expected to launch in September. Due to its SP (Special Project) designation, it’s likely this particular pair will have limited availability from only select Jordan Brand retailers.
