Since premiering on the West End in 2016 and Broadway in 2018, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has established itself worldwide. Productions are being staged in cities including Tokyo and Hamburg, and the show is slated to open in Brazil later this year, followed by the Netherlands.
As the beloved Tony-winning production continues its Broadway run, WWD visited the show’s costume studio in the Design District where Katrina Lindsay, along with international costume associate Sabine Lemaitre, shared a few of the show’s iconic looks. Here, the pair offer a closer look at her dress design for Myrtle the ghost, Harry Potter’s trench cloak, Ron’s signature striped sweater, Hogwarts school uniforms and more.
“I hope that [the show] continues to be able to be seen by lots of people across the world,” says Lindsay. “It’s a story that everybody seems to know across the world, so that’s a great thing. It’s something everybody recognizes.”
